Location Sheet

Programme Title: Timeless Production
Client: Robert Clack Media Department
Writer: Derrick Odafi/Ibukun Johnson
Producer: Richie Idemudia
Director: Derrick Odaffi/Richie Idemudia
Date: 12/02/13

The image on the right shows the first place we filmed which was in Robert Clack lower school. We had to film the main character which is 'Richie' having the vision and all the trouble he went through before that.

This images on the left shows an image of a bit of the road where we will be filming. A small scene may take part on this road because not much of the focus is around here. The name of the road is St George’s road/Westfield road. The image is quite an old picture of the road due to it being a previous view from Google maps. The forth scene is going to take place within this location.

The image on the right shows an image of the entrance of the alleyway where we will be filming. Within this part, we are planning to get an actor walking into the alleyway. Within the alleyway are where most of the scene will take place and where one of our actors will get murdered. Again, the image is quite an old picture of the road due to it being a previous view from Google maps. The third scene is going to task place within this location. Due to the Google maps, we cannot really have a close view inside the alleyway.

The image on the left is an image of Richie’s house (not specifically identified for personal reasons). A bit of the scene has to be filmed inside his house where the main character has to get ready. The main actor within the film is going to be Richie himself. Also, a bit of the scene may be filmed outside of his house but we are not too sure yet. The second scene is going to take place within the house. In order for us to get to this location, we would be meeting at Richie’s house and walking from there because it isn’t too far from his house.

Health and Safety Issues to note:

●      Be gentle when taking or handling the camera and tripod to different locations.
●      When filming on the road, make sure no items are left on the road and make sure no cars are driving past.
●      Make everyone knows where all the objects are.
Potential Filming Problems :

●      If we film on different days, the weather may change which could be noticed.
●      The camera has to be fully charged before we have left.
●      Make sure it is not raining so that the camera does not get damaged.
Additional Notes:  (map of area/weather forecast etc) Looking over the weather forecast, we have noticed that the two days we originally wanted to film on one day the sun was going to be out and the other day, it wasn't. So now we have to change our schedule in order to maintain the same light used. Another thing is that we have to go out to find or buy a chain for a certain scene within the film. On the day we are going to go out to film, we have to make sure other actors which are participating have to be there and on time because we cannot have any delays when recording. Another thing we have to take on board is to film at a time when not that much people would be about so that they do not cause a distraction towards the filming.

Title: Race Against Time

Synopsis:  This film is based on someone that this able to see visions about things that happen in the future but does not know how to deal with his new found talent. He is not a very organised and despises his responsibility to help the people in his community. One of his missions to stop something before it happens ends in tragedy as the person he looks to save dies. From this point he is even more discourage and embarks on a new mission to save a female he does so successfully but she later turns out to be an enemy.
Key Genre Conventions:

·      A protagonist that is taken advantage of the antagonist by exploiting his flaws the flaws are usually obvious to the audience but not to the antagonist until they are revealed to him. When the flaws are visible to the antagonist, it put him/her in the dominant position.
·      A crime at the core of the narrative, often murder, there is usually a crime in the narrative or storyline of a thriller. It keeps the viewer hooked
·      The protagonist seems to be less powerful compared to the antagonist

Measures to Take to Manage Risk
Risk Managed?
Y/N
Rain – can cause our vision to be blurred, which can lead to accidents.

As well as that rain can spoil the cameras and equipment as we are handling electronics.

Electronics and water can cause a shock the person holding the camera faces that possibility of that happening

2.5
Check the weather before you film.

Constantly check the sky before you start.

Film under trees and shades.

Alleyway in Green Lane – the alleyway on green lane is quite narrow and cars come through rarely. If you leave the camera and equipment unsupervised it can lead to broken fertilities (the car running over fertilities).
The people in front of the camera and behind may not see incoming vehicles coming through so both sides’ faces a slight risk of a collision with vehicle.

If anyone is not recording that can be on the look out for incoming vechiles alerting the vehicle the pedestrians on the other side filming.

Park – there is a slight possibility that the camera and equipment can get hit. People playing ball games like football; people riding bikes; and dogs and cats can run into it.
The people filming could get hit by the hazards I mentioned

Focus Group Evaluation

For what has been said by the focus group, I’m automatically going to have to agree with their choice for choosing the first idea for several reasons. One of these reasons is that from the feedback gained in the focus group meeting the second idea we have is a lot more interesting and entertaining as a thriller Due to the better reception we have gained from everyone in our focus group it would be logical to go with the choice of the people for more appeal. Although we have decided to go with the opinion of the people in our focus group, there did not seem to be much in depth feedback from the focus group. There was no input to the improvements that coup be made. Even though we have said we are going to go along with the first idea, things may change depending on if we can find even more ways to improve our first ideas. Another thing is that since they didn’t give us as much feedback as we wanted, we are going to have to find even more ideas by ourselves. The positive feedback we received was that we shouldn’t go with the third for the reasons we gave and I agree and understand where they are coming from. In the end, it is either the first or second idea and only time will tell.
